Hey. It has been quite some time since Emerge is over. How are you people doing? hmmm.. Just wondering how many of us still keep in contact with each other? Hope we still do. We shall all go for JC outing after our A levels! Breakthrough is ours to get. wonder how many of us are still holding on to the visions that God had given us during emerge or even our daily quiet time. still remember during the period of "emerging", all of us had one united vision of seeing revival in JCs. How many of us are still believing it?

I remembered my subzone once had a prayer meeting with pastor yk and he said something which is really true. If we want to see revival in our schools, we must first have revival in ourselves. We must carry the passion and fire for God before we will be capable of doing what God wants us to do. If we lose the fire halfway, how are we going to carry on? Do we still have the faith and tenacity to hold on to all the visions?

I blogged before in the older posts, Matthew 24 :12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. It seems to be so true. Even as the Day of the 2nd coming is drawing near, I see my friends one by one turning away from God instead of turning to Him for solutions. It's really sad to see friends that once was on fire together for God and now one turning away when the other is still holding on. I see backsliders coming back to God, and I also see people backsliding from God. Guys and girls, let's continue the race together! Hebrews 12:1-2 Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

God I pray that all of us will hold on to you, not just the visions and dreams that You 'd given us, but also the relationship and the promises that we have with You. Continue to be so real to us. Love You Jesus.

Emerge

Emerge is over, so is POS. i'm sure for many of us, it's a wonderful experience, a time where we learn and grow. and i'm really very proud of everyone in this JC Cluster, for all the hard work and sacrifices we've put into our performance. also, i think we really did a great job during POS. the energy level that we bring forth is amazing. even though we may not come in as champion, we still have 400dollar marche voucher!! we can still go and celebrate after our mid years.

i'm really very thankful for every single one of you for giving me such a great experience this emerge. i really treasure the fellowship that i could have with u guys. there were lots of fun and laughter in our mist, and they never fail to brighten up my day no matter how terrible i felt.

even though EMERGE may be over, but it's really a new start for all of us, a new start for a greater revival in our respective junior colleges. let's not forget the work that God has done in our lives the past few days, but do keep it close to our heart, and let's desire even more for a JC revival!

this will probably really be my last yr in parade of schs. haah. i m going to be yr 2! n i m still in jc. although i really feel like i wanna stay here forever, becos u guys have been so so so awesome.. i love all of u so much! u guys gave me such precious memories n u all were an awesome team to lead! i love fellowshipping with all of u.. n u guys r always so willing to listen to me rattle on n on about every single thing under the sun. haha.

Heyx guys!! It has been so long since amanda posted the last post. haha.. Why nobody post already?!?! Guess everyone's been busy.. Study hard guys!! lets do well in our 'A' levels and bring glory to God.. let us also continue to bring souls to Him =))..

Anyway.. this year POS there are alot of J1s!! hahah.. New flyers new bases.. and we can get to know more pple =D.. although some of them are new in Christ, they are still excited about emerge and particpate in POS.. hope that they will grow and enlarge through this time with one another.. It's really nice to see even pple who are new in Christ to participate actively in activities!! I guess POS shall also be exciting this year.. okie.. hope to see everyone soon =))..

This is a post I actually wrote in my blog for a friend who was going through a rather tough time in his Parental Objection, but I thought it was something that I should share with all of you as well because I feel it is true for all espects of a Christian walk: be it PO, evangelism/outreach, your christian walk itself, etc. So Yup, here goes:

If what you're going through now feels like an uphill battle, well, it is. We're not going to deny it. Becoming a christian doesn't mean that life from the moment of salvation onwards is going to be smooth, on the contrary, it's going to be tough, a tough battle against the evil one who will try his hardest to take your soul back to be with him in his final fall into the abyss. He's going to fail, and he knows it, and he wants to take as many souls down with him as he can. You have to keep fighting; keep on keeping on, and don't give up. If you quit now, you're only letting the devil win.

You see, the way of the world is broad and easy, but the straight and narrow road is the only path to salvation. Remember how we said a Christian's life is like an uphill battle? Well, here's why we say that:

When you climb up a mountain, oxygen becomes scarcer, and you depend more on your oxygen tank for survival. The higher you go, the more you need it - this is like your walk with Christ. The higher you go up in spiritual maturity, the more you'll realize you need to lean on the strength of Jesus in order to continue on in your daily walk.

And then there's the increasing difficulty the higher you climb. Not only will you depend more on your oxygen tank now, you will need to breath harder to climb higher in the next step, and each step becomes more labourous. Each step will become more trechrous because the higher you go, the lesser people have ever explored these 'unchartered' parts. Because higher, means harder, and less people are willing to push themselves to keep on going. It's the same in a christian walk. The more mature you want to become, the more you'll realize that there will be less and less people supportive of you or who are there with you because not many will have the strength to go on, and not many will have the endurance to brave the unknown. If you think back even further, sometimes even right at the very base, you will find that there will be friends and even family members who oppose to your convertion to christianity in the first place and will have many 'freak stories' to tell you and discourage you. Don't let that happen, trust in the only every lasting truth - God - and keep pushing on.

Sometimes you will feel like you're losing; that you can't see even a peek of the sunrise you wanted to see, and it looks like nothing but fog, avalanches, blizzards and snow storms line the way, but trust me, the end result is very much worth it. Afterall, ask any of the climbers that have braved mount everest or any astronaut that has landed on the moon. It wasn't easy to get there, and not many people could do it, or even wanted to do it. But in the end, the view from the summit of it all was worth it. And besides, even in the world of the natural, if it was not for these brave men and women who were willing to risk everything to discover more or our unknown world/universe, we would not have access to such a broad bank of knowledge that mankind so heavily depends on today. And we would not have succeeded as far as we have if not for couragous explorers who sacrificed their comforts for the betterment of the rest of humankind.

John5:5-9 Bro Edmund preached bout this man who had an infirmity for 38 years and he waited at the pool of Bethesda for so long to be waited to be healed.. he kept waiting such that others had already past by him so many years.. lets take a step of faith out.. lets not wait like the man.. paralysed physically.. When Jesus asked him whether he wanted to be made well, he dunno how and have no idea.. lets believe that God will give us ideas!! lets not just sit and wait and hope that somehow one day things will happen.. lets us not be paralysed like him.. let us step out and GO! =D

Prayer Meeting

after a long break of examinations and examinations, we are finally back together in our JC Cluster prayer meeting on monday (24/10/05) at Cecilia's house.

what marks the difference between this prayer meeting and the previous ones that we had is that we included games and praise this time round.actually, JC Cluster is not just filled with muggers and more muggers, but we are a people that know how to spell F-U-N, that can be exciting, and most importantly, that are revelent to the society we live in.

before we actually start praying, perez also shared a word with all of us.

Isaiah 56:7
Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer.Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.

we are to be called a HOUSE OF PRAYER, to be prayful, to be praying every moment. praise is good, worship is good, but it is never a substitute for prayer. even in the Bible, we never hear of being a house of praise, or even a house of worship. yet in the verse that we just read, we are all called to be a house of prayer. let us all today, decide in our heart, that we would be prayer warriors.

DISCOURAGEMENT
yes, examinations are just over, but perhaps some of us are really discourage by our own performance, yet, God is the strength of our heart. our situation and and circumatances may fail us, but God will not.

Revelation 1:8
"I am the the Alpha and the Omega, the Begining and the End," says the Lord,"who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

He is the Begining and the End. whatever work God has started out in our lives, He will be faithful to end it well.

through all these tribulation, through these difficult times, we will become stronger.

PRAYER - OUR FOUNDATION
in every building that we see, the most important part of it is always the foundation. in our christian walk, we also need to build a strong foundation, a strong foundation in Jesus Christ, which can be built through prayer.

Matthew 13:20-21
"But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles."

like the word that perez shared, we should make prayer a part of our lifestyle, enjoy praying, love God, hunger for the presence of God, and be a prayer warrior in the house of God.and as we see in Matthew 13;20-21, a strong foundation in our christian walk will bring us through the different tribulations we face in our life.

INTERCESSION
we have learnt during one of the cell group meeting that there are 5 different kinds of tongues-edification, praise, intercession, spiritual warfare, and exhortation. the different kinds of tongues is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and it should not be take for granted. we will lose what we take for granted.

when we pray in tongues to interceed, it is not necessary that we scream or to shout all the times. there is no need for that at all. in a prayer meeting, we shouldnt be trying to outshout each other, even drowning out the leader.

POTTER-CLAY
what is the season that we are living in right now? it is a time of great spiritual warfare, time of war against the devil. even as a church, we are moving on to the next level, and there are bound to be pressure that we will encounter. yet, remember that gold is only purify under fire. the purest gold is only produced under the toughest pressure. instead of giving into pressure, let's be strong to go through the pressure.

in the mist, michelle saw a vision of a dough. what is dough for? it is to be moulded again and again, before it can be used. we all need to be like dough, to be moulded by God. and all these moulded will not be wasted, it is for purification.

Ezekiel 36:26-27
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgement and do them."

God wants to take away our heart of stone, one that is cold and harden and to give us a heart of flesh, a heart that can be moulded by God.

God is the potter and we are the clay. God mould us, to make us to who He wants us to be. sometimes, the Potter places His clay on the shelves for a long long time, yet, let's always remain a positive attitude while being on the shelves. the days on the shelves are really training days, days of training tobe a better clay.

Isaiah 28:28
Bread flour must be ground; Therefore he does not thresh it forever, Break it with his cartwheel, Or crush it with his horsemen.

we will not always be place on the shelf. when the time is right, God will take us out. let's really trust in God's timing, and the plans He have for us.

GIVING THANKS

in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

let's always have the attitude of giving thanks to God, for that is the will of God in our lives.

perez shared about something he read on a book. there is the particular person, when he prays for something, he only pray for it once, and from the time of pray to the time of promise, he will give thanks for the prayer already answered. this man have the confidence that God will answer his prayer.

when we pray, let's envision our prayer coming to pass. the Bible also says that when we can see it, we can have it.

FAITH
James 2:20-22
But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

many times we would hear of faith messages, and we would have faith in our heart. but let us not just stop at the stage of being inspired, but to go on to let our faith be demostrated by the works that we do. as we have seen, faith without works is dead.

sometimes, in fact, all the times, when God calls us to do something, it would be beyond ourselves, it would be almost impossible for us to bear. yet, when God calls us to something, He will surely provided us with what we need to overcome it. so let's have faith to trust God, and be swift to say "YES" to what God has called us to, just as how swift Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac.

indeed, every prayer meeting we had is yet another time for us to be refreshed.

God sees all and He will strengthen you! keep praying, cos the effective fervernt prayer of a righteous man avails much. amen? different exams, same stress. just keep trusting God and i believe ALL of us will breakthrough, yah? Faith

i'm back again!

faith is something that we always talk about. but how many of us really live by our faith?

talk is easy. talk is cheap. but putting your talk into actions are not.

it is very easy to say "i have faith that God will bring me through my examinations". but it is not easy to live a lifestyle that will reflect our faith.

having faith is not just a mental acknowledgement that God will bring us through our situation. it is knowing and living by our faith that God will surely bring us through all situations.

the realm of faith is where you find the peace and rest of God. it's where you can be certain that everything is going to be alright. let's learn to lean on God's peace and His rest. let us all not be anxious for the things to come, because we know our God is in control.

most importantly, let faith not just be a talk, let it be a walk that we walk.

Heart Of Worship

Matthew24: 3,12

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" ...... "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold."

The Bible says that when the end time is coming, many will lose the love of God and we are the generation that is living in the end time. I felt that all of us, really need to renew our hearts continuously so that our love for God will not grow cold. We must continue to have the fire and passion for God in our hearts.

For the past few months from July, we have been learning alot about staying strong in God.

29/07, cell group, we learnt about Spiritual Hunger of Jabez. 30/07, service, Rev Mike Connell preached about Freedom from Shame, that we must always confess to Jesus of our sins, that our identity can be found in Him. 31/07, service, Rev Mike Connell preached about going to a New Level with God. He says that we can only have breakthrough if we have a relationship with Him. 10/08, prayer meeting (YK zone), Pastor YK preached about the Presence of God, that we must always have the passion and fire for God. He also said that every cg, every encounter with God should not be USUAL. 14/08, service, Pastor Kong preached about Worship, that Joshua is a lover of God's presence. Exodus33: 11. 21/08, service, Sy Rogers preached about Walking on Still with God. When we're hungry, we're vulnerable, therefore we need the Holy Spirit to fill us. 28/08, service, Rev Ulf Ekman preached in my service about the Holy Spirit, that we need to PLUG IN to God. 02/09, cell group, one thing spoken by my cgl is that we will constantly be challenged. The devil will attack us mentally and we must hold fast.04/09, service, Pastor Tan preached about Stay Your Course, Finish Strong in God. 11/09, service, Pastor Kong preached about HEART OF WORSHIP. Having communion with God = coming into union with God, that what God desires is what we desires and what we desires is what God desires.

I believe all these is not by coincidence but God really wants to seek after true worshippers. Even during our JC prayer meetings, especially the first one at Cecilia's house, we worshipped God throughout and did not really pray for anything. God is truly speaking to us that in the midst of our busy daily lives, we should not forsake Him.

I pray that all of us will not put our trust in the world but in God. Let us continue to seek after God fervently!!

Prayer Meeting

for the benefit of those who could not make it for the prayer meeting on wed, i'm here to blog about it.

we had a great time at Cecilia's house on wed, waiting upon the Lord, worshiping Him, and presenting Him with our prayers. in the mist of all, God spoke to different ones of us, each with a revelation to share.

there is a need for us to pray before we do anything. prayer is what moves the hand of God. pray more then u study even. prayer is the language for miracles to happen. every revival, every miracle, is birth forth from prayer. but praying alone without pratical steps is also useless. just like faith without works is dead. when we pray for revival in our sch, actually God has already prepared that harvest for us. God has done His part and we need to do our part to bring in the harvest. dont be afraid to witness to the lost, dont be afraid to share the gospel to your friends. take the step today and ask. if we are not going to do our part to bring in the harvest, the harvest that God has prepared for us would then be in vain.

ken shared about his 2min dream of his friend crying, asking someone to save her. knowing that God is our Saviour, he invited his friend for the evangelistic meeting, and his friend responded postively to it. sometimes, God shows us people who are open, who we can reach out to. when you feel that prompting from God, dont be afraid to step out in faith and to invite. you may not understand why, but jus trust God. and He will direct all our path.

everything that we do, it must not just be a good idea, but it also has to be a God idea. we may come out with the plans, but if God is not glorified in that plan, if the plan is not God-centered, no matter how good that plan may be, there will not be true success. God is the one who will bring the increase. so, whatever that we do, be sure that God is pleased with it, if not, all that you do will still be in vain.

many times, even before we try to do something, we already determine in our hearts that we are bound to fail, that we surely cannot make it. that is the defeated mindset that has been restricting us from doing what God has planned for us to do. that's why the bible says it's important for us to renew our mind daily, so that we can see ourselves the way God looks at us, and not the way the world would look at us. we all have the potential for greatness. do not think in your heart that it is impossible, because with God, all things are possible.

Luke 10:41-42
And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."

sometimes we are so busy studying or even doing the things of God, that we become like martha, worried and troubled about many things. like what Jesus said in that verse, only one thing is needed, and mary has chosen that good part. what did mary do? if we look further up in that chapter, we'll be able to see that mary actually drop everything that she was doing to sit at Jesus' feet and to hear His word. let us really learn to be like mary, to wait upon the Lord, and to hear His voice every single day.

this is like a confirmation to the word that cecilia has shared. sometimes we get so occupied with the motion of reaching out to our friends, that we forget the most important thing, that is to enjoy the presence of God. let us not forget what is the most important thing in christianity.

sometimes when we have prayer meeting in sch or as a cg, we often jump straight to the items we want to pray for, for example revival in school. and we forgot to bring down the presence of God. let us not forget what is important in a meeting as such. without the presence of God in a prayer meeting, all the prayers that we offer up would be ineffective as well.

Eze. 22:29-30
"The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. So i sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but i found no one.

in JC, many people are only concern about their studies and the fire for God die down. but we should never be like them. in the mist of studying for exams, the fire of God should only burn stronger and not die down. God is just looking for a man who would build a wall and stand in between the gap for our friends. in the mist of all these, will you avail yourself to be the man that God is looking for?

whatever God has spoken for us to do, let us really have the faith to believe that it will come to past. let us not be tired of doing what God has called us to do. may it be reaching out, or calling new friends etc. and if we do not give up, we can be assurred of the harvest that is to come. keep your trust in God who is found faithful, and persevere.

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

hey guys, a big thank you to all of you! i went home n read all the notes n i m so touched by it! seriously! i almost cried. and u noe i was jus reading and God told me this, that He brought u guys into my life to encourage me and show me that i can make a difference. My best birthday present will not be the most gorgeous gowns or the most beautiful shoes, but my best is that u guys told me that I made a difference in ur life.. To me, that is the best thing that I can receive. and i feel so blessed by all your love! n i want u to noe that i love u guys and appreciate all of u so much! u r the best cluster i can ever ever lead.. love all of u out there!

25july2005, of we set off to the marche in heeren. we're treating ourselves to good food with the voucher we won through the parade of school.

it has been a long long time since we last had a gathering as the JC Cluster. if i had not remembered wrongly, the other one was when we sent xiaoting off to israel.

besides just having an ordinary dinner, we celebrated birthdays of those july babies. it's just a pity cindy couldnt be there with us. so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY peter, liangkai, cindy, xiaoting, michelle, and jing! may God bless you all bountifully in the days to come.

someone told me that marche meant marketplace. i think it was perez. but anyway, i do not think that it was pure coincidental that JC Cluster would gather together at THE MARKETPLACE. how symbolic. yet, let's really enter into the marketplace(our JCs/CIs) together, and together, we will make a difference.

wherever there is a part of JC Cluster around, there we'll make a difference.

by the way, i believed all of us had enjoyed ourselves very much. i really miss the godly fellowship that we share, the lame jokes, all the cheering, and every single one that plays a part in the JC Cluster.

despite trying to maintain my personal image(which i dont think i have any) of the sane and serious cecilia in school, i lost all these when i'm with you guys. we're the loudest, the funniest, the lamest, the coolest, the funkiest youth ever existed.

but let us also be the most on fire, the most discipline, the most revived youth ever found on planet earth. i pray that the fire from emerge still burns strongly in our lives, and let us dream to see revival in all the JCs/CIs in singapore.

Heya one and all! Firstly, really really want to thank you guys for coming down to witness/support the baptism! (especially after I heard all your stories and sacrifices! wahh!! very gan dong!) Thank you Cecellia for the cute ring from Israel and thank you everyone for the wonderful postcard. I'm like going to treasure it forever and put it in my bible! Thank you for putting aside the time to come down and to get the salt to saltify ah liang and myself ^_^ very touched leh, that was a lot of salt! Will literally become the SALT of the earth le hehe Thank you guys so much for the photos also and so sorry Priya that you had to be saltified and dampened by me haha. One last shout out to all the sisters (and the brothers too! ^_-) love you guys and I pray that we'll all keep growing and moving on to he next level yah ^_^

Hey peeps! Just thought I'd leave you guys a little message before I headed down to church. Really want to thank you guys for the memorable times we spent together. Also should thank you guys for standing up to my 'attitude problem' after my one week of absence from practice. I guess that proves one thing doesn't it? temporal fits of excitement can cause fatique after the excitement wears out. But really, the godly passion for POS and winning the lost that I could sense whenever we had POS practice at the Esplanade basement is definitely levels above what they could create at pre u sem.

You guys were really the ones that got me to step out of my shell and throw (over) caution to the wind and just freely express myself. You know what? Even the enthusiasm that I felt during pre u sem was nothing compared to the fire of the enthusiasm y'all brought into my life. What was felt in the seminar was a fleeting streak of excitement; POS was an experience that will never be forgotten. Haha actually, I think without the new perspective of seeing things that you guys helped set in my mind, I might not have enjoyed myself so much at NTU and everything would have just fallen flat straight away.

Anyhow, want to commend you guys on a job well done. Despite the many last minute changes and alterations here and there, we still managed to pull of a pretty good job at Emerge. Third is pretty good; it's a two place jump from last year's fifth. But let's not stop here k, let's move from glory to glory with a spirit of excellence and aim higher next Emerge. Just as we did not listen to the voice of circumstance this year with our small numbers, we have proved that even with the small group that we had we made a difference.

Congrats to Jeanette, Joanne, Aileen, Sheila, Jennifer, Nicholas, Krystal and many other fellow JC/CI cluster people who stood out above the rest and earned their position in the top three of their various competitions. Without you guys, JC/CI cluster would not have been the tertiary cluster champion.

a very big thank u to all u out there who took the effort to be part of pos. these 2 mths we had were not easy. we had our ups and downs yet u guys were a fantastic bunch of pple to lead! this is not what i expect from pos. I first had my doubts when i came.. thinking that i had to juggle between so many things. how can i ever manage? but well God proved me wrong and i wan u to noe i m so proud of you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for keep on keeping on.. for coming even when u r really tired.. and for sticking thru to the end.. ;)

i felt that God really showed Himself true to us. and God is an amazing God. somehow felt that thru all these He really showed me that with Him all things r possible. as long as we r willing to rely on Him. so let the fire burn stronger in our hearts for jesus Christ!

hello guys! i've created this blog speically for the JC cluster.

time really flies, as usual. until next yr, there won be anymore POS practise. i'm so going to miss those days where we would rush down from sch to esplanade jus to practise our dance and our stunts. we had pratically spent almost everyday together for the past 1 mth. i'm sure that even as emerge conference has come to an end, the bond formed during this period of time, the friendship crafted will not just end here.

emerge may be over, and we may be the champion cluster, but let's not let our excitement jus stop here. let's be more excited den before. excited for the revival to come in our own sch. amen?

one of my aims in creating this blog is that we can make use of this blog to encourage one another. so, do post some encouraging stuff here ok? if u have any revelations or visions for your schools, can post it up too! we'll be praying.
